Sam is an innovative and strategic business leader with significant experience in strategy, sales and operations with a successful track record in the global commercialization of technology-rich products.
In addition to being Executive Director for Zen Ecosystems, he is a Director at Planet Innovation
Previously, Sam was the International Sales Director for Vision BioSystems where he was responsible for establishing the sales, marketing, customer support, and service operation throughout the EU, Middle East, Latin America and Asia Pacific.
Sam holds an Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Melbourne, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Melbourne Business School and strategy training from London Business School.
Tim is currently CEO at MMB Networks and a seasoned Executive recognized for success in leading technology companies through the development of new markets, products and services.
He has negotiated and put in place strategic partnerships and investments between companies and several Fortune 100 partners and raised over $100M in growth capital through some of the largest financial and strategic investors focused on the energy, technology and utilities space.
His career has included M&A activity in Europe and North America as well as establishment of joint ventures in China.
He began his career at Johnson Controls, where he spent 8 years leading sales on many of the company’s most significant and key industrial client accounts.
Teresa has 20 years of experience with growth stage technology companies as a venture investor, executive and board member.
In the previous 10 years as a Partner with Jolimont Capital she has focused on helping Australian companies access US investment, markets and exits. Teresa was also on the board of Daintree Networks until its acquisition by GE earlier this year.
The first 12 years of her career were spent in Silicon Valley as a VC with Mohr Davidow Ventures and in executive roles including as Vice President of Software Solutions at ONI Systems and as CEO of Timeshift. Teresa is currently on the boards of RedBubble and StartupAUS while also serving on the Entrepreneurs’ Programme Committee for the Australian Government.
Her leadership work spans more than 10 VC-funded technology companies, 30+ equity financings, eight M&A transactions and two IPO’s.
Teresa has an MBA from Stanford University and a B.S. with Honours in Engineering and Applied Science from Caltech.
James is a strategic and visionary Executive and Sales Leader with significant experience in strategy and management within the energy industry. James is focused on building the business and channel relationships with utility providers, reseller and technology partners.
Prior to Zen, James was EVP Sales at REGEN/Encycle for over four years, building sales from the ground floor, which now boasts a customer base of some of the largest National retailers.
Before joining REGEN, James led Western US Sales at EnerNOC, a recognized leader in Demand Response, with a focus on bringing commercial and industrial customers together with utility-funded DR programs and data-driven energy management solutions.
In addition to managing EnerNOC’s Western US team, James personally brought over 250 megawatts of DR into programs across the US. Prior to EnerNOC, James served as Distribution Sales Manager at EnergyLogic, a leader in alternative fuel fired furnaces and boilers where he was responsible for building the US and International Sales distribution network and ultimately tripling the company’s annual sales in just under 4 years.
He is also the Chairman of the Board at Enersponse and sits on the Board of Huevos Wax.
Michael is the co-founder of Zen Ecosystems and an entrepreneur with a track record for successfully founding technology companies. An expert in energy management and smart devices, Michael drove the strategic marketing, seed-stage funding and product strategy for the Zen business and led the formation of a global team to support the commercialization of the Zen Thermostat and Zen HQ energy management platform.
Prior to Zen, Michael was a senior manager at Planet Innovation and Invetech where he led the development of a range of hi-tech enterprises and he remains an active mentor of young entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Michael has engineering and computer science qualifications along with an MBA from Melbourne Business School and London Business School.
Kevin has nearly a decade of experience working with and for start-ups, with a specific focus in the Cleantech and Connected Home/IOT markets. While often taking on multiple responsibilities in ventures, his specific focus tends to be on Business Development, Sales and Channel Management. He was part of the founding team that developed and commercialized the Zen Thermostat.
Through his work at Zen, Planet Innovation and MMB, Kevin has worked closely with a wide variety of brands, manufacturers, retailers, service operators, connected home platforms, utilities, suppliers and CMs.
Before joining Zen, Kevin was VP, Business Development at MMB Networks where he led the sales team in working with customers from household brands to start-ups, developed strategic partnerships with distributors and sales channels, and cultivated relationships with connected home platforms.
Prior to MMB, Kevin was the Manager of the Cleantech Practice at MaRS, a Toronto-based startup incubator that provides services to entrepreneurs across the province of Ontario.
Kevin holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree with combined honours in Microbiology & Immunology and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Dalhousie University.
